Let me tell you a story of a blind cat whose name is Paul.  He was born on an autumn day in 2014 along with his brother Peter. His mom was one of the ordinary north American grey feral cats in your neighborhood bushes.   So, now, Paul is two years and some months old.

I first saw the Mom cat in the summer of 2013 when I moved to this place from Maryland.  Yeah, the previous year I lost my dog, King. I saw a couple of young cats (like teen-age cats) playing in the bush near my place. They were young and active. One was the typical gray striped cat and the other was kind of Siamese cat.  They were like ghosts -- seen now but gone right away. I didn't care much about them. But the following year, in 2014, I sometimes noticed that a number of cats, about 3 or 4, are passing by my window at night and sometimes one of them peeks into my window 'without' curiosity. I mean 'without' curiosity. They simply looked like saying, "me...no...interested in anything about you guys..." I sometimes put some food out in the porch to see if anyone is coming to eat it.  Little by little, I noticed that they come and eat when I am away. It was like playing hide-and-seek. They come to eat but I never saw them eating.

Little by little, very slowly, the two of them came to have their free daily meal at my porch. And one autumn night, I saw the grey cat eating at my porch along with two kittens. One was very ugly and the other was a little bit small but cute.  Oh, they were so cute....

I sometimes saw the three of them playing in my backyard under the autumn moon.  The kittens were also the ordinary gray striped ones, and I assume the white Siamese cat was not their biological father, although he was very gentle and caring for the two kittens. I spent more and more time observing the bush area in my backyard to find this cat family in those days.  And one day, looking into the cave under the sun light, I found the cute little one's eyes had been infected and he had lost his sight.  He was sitting silently in the cave waiting for his family. He was there. Silent.  (Feb. 7, 2017)

Dear Paul...

Yeah, his name is 'Paul.' Is it she? Not sure. Some say it's 'he' and I find no 'ball' so I assume it is 'she.'  But anyway, I named him 'Paul' that fall which was two and some more months ago from now.  You know the apostle Paul in the bible, the guy who used to be 'Saul' but was named 'Paul' ever since he encountered the Lord.  He got blind and then saw the real light ever since.  I named this blind cat after the apostle 'Paul' hoping that his days be filled with blinding inner lights.  Dear Paul, have you met your Jesus? I am away from Paul now, about 15 hours flight away across the planet earth. It is day time so it will be deep in the night in your place. My days here is passing so quickly.  Do not imagine that I think of you very often...no...  I think of you sometimes...  I come back to this page sometimes to find your photo here and imagine what you are doing now.  Does Charlie and John provide you with milk regularly? Does anyone annoy you?  Is the white cat still bothersome to you? Do you .... do you remember me? Do you...do you remember my voice?  Do you know that sometimes I think of you? (Maybe, are you asking the same questions to me?) (March 21, 2017)
